NEW LIVE MUSIC VIDEO!

October 19, 2021

We just dropped a new LIVE music video! It was filmed at a truly unique outdoor art space / concert venue in Frederick, MD, name of Sky Stage (coincidentally, same place we played on a gorgeous evening to a gorgeous crowd last Friday eve). It was filmed and edited by Tyler Scheerschmidt, recorded, mixed and mastered by Dillon Douglasson, and animated by Josh Cromwell. Together these guys make up Hourglass Sessions, a group making amazing live music videos and doing super cool livestreams out of Richmond, VA. Check them out and subscribe to their channel, it’s one of the most unique music series we’ve come across, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.

Make sure to watch all the way to the end, as the animation Josh did gets crazy near the completion of the video! Bird up, folks!

This is the first professionally recorded version of “Filth Castle” we’ve done as a four piece – you’ll notice some extra harmonies and other sonic details that make it different from the studio version, as well as an entirely different guitar solo section featuring Jake and Andrew. PLUS the doomy outro is a separate song – “Poor Wigs” – which we’ve been doing on tour as long as Jake’s been in the band. Watch the full video at the link below, please leave a comment, and, again, subscribe to the Hourglass Sessions channel!

LIVE IN THE OUT OF DOORS AT SKY STAGE IN FREDERICK, MD TONIGHT!

October 15, 2021

We’re gearing up for a very special show this very evening, Friday, October 15th, in Frederick, MD. Kind of last minute when we were asked a few weeks ago, honestly – but we couldn’t say no. After we filmed a live music video at Frederick’s historic outdoor music and art space Sky Stage this past summer, we tried in vain to book an autumn show at the most beautiful and sonically pleasing small outdoor venue we’ve been to. Unfortunately, we were told they were booked through 2022. Then, a few weeks ago The Stone Eye from Philadelphia hits us up and tells us they’re playing Sky Stage for their album release show, and they’ve got Frederick heavies Marshal Fuzz on board, and it’s Marshal Fuzz guitarist/vocalist Sulaiman’s birthday, and they’d like us to play? Hell yes, we will play. We would not say no to Sky Stage.

That music video for “Filth Castle” is going to be out next week, by the way. And we’ll be playing Sky Stage in the twilight TONIGHT in Frederick, MD. We go on first, at 7, photography strongly recommended, this will look cool as hell! It’s $10 and more than worth it just to experience Sky Stage if you haven’t been. They have booze for those over 21, just in case you were wondering, and there are indeed bathrooms on the premises.

Check out our new live EP EPPPCOT to get yourself pumped up for this lil evenin’ o’ rockin’!
RSVP HERE at the facebook event page if you’re into that kind of thing.

Doors 6:30, CC goes on first at 7 PM sharp, don’t be late! $10, all ages, kids under 12 free! Beer and wine is there for those of age!

See you at Sky Stage!

ANNOUNCING: EPPPCOT (Experimental Protoprog Psych Punk Concert On Tour)

September 09, 2021
New release announcement! Pre-orders are now up for EPPPCOT (Experimental Protoprog Psych Punk Concert On Tour). This is a live EP. Pre-orders will ship out September 29th.
On November 18th, 2019, Caustic Casanova played at about 1 am at Will’s Pub in Orlando, FL on a Monday night. The band was on close to 24 hours of no sleep. Stefanie had experienced a personal family tragedy in the past day. It was a rough night, but we endured. This is a document of that.
There are two sides to touring, and they are beautifully captured on a cassette release that will feature EPPPCOT – Experimental Prototype Psych Punk Concert On Tour (named lovingly after an Orlando landmark) on one side, and Lïve Läugh Löve Malört (named lovingly after a Chicagoland alcohol benchmark) on the other. In Chicago, in 2018, we played on a Saturday night to a packed house of drunk metalheads. In Orlando in 2019, we played on a Monday night, nearly hallucinating from lack of sleep, to the few people who dared to stick around into the early morning hours. We rocked both nights with everything we had. The 2018 Chicago gig featured the classic Yonki-Zaenker-Beringer lineup, and the Orlando 2019 show featured the (at the time) very new Kimberley-Zaenker-Beringer lineup, yet another way these two shows exemplify two sides of the live CC experience. Hopefully the next live CC set can show off the four piece lineup in all its glory.
EPPPCOT was recorded live by Kevin Tuck at Will’s Pub, Orlando, FL on November 18, 2019, and was mixed by Kevin Tuck. It was mastered by Dan Coutant at Sun Room Audio. Artwork by Selena Benally.
And as for the cassettes themselves? This will be possibly the most unique piece of CC merchandise you will ever own! Ultra limited edition, 30 cassettes, personally dubbed by guitarist Jake Kimberley, with handmade art! Each piece with have unique artwork – no two will be alike!
In addition, this cassette will have the ENTIRE EPPPCOT live show from November 18, 2019 in Orlando, FL, including two tracks not appearing on bandcamp. PLUS the entire Lïve Läugh Löve Malört Live in Chicago recording, plus two never before heard ultra CC rarities that are not available ANYWHERE else. This will be the rarest of the rare CC merch.
A handwritten note will accompany your purchase, explaining the contents within. Your choice – purple tint or translucent pink cassettes. ONLY 30 WILL BE MADE! EPPPCOT koozies and stickers are available, as well as a pre-order bundle which features the Black Metal Mana-tee shirt created by legendary comic and heavy metal artist David Paul Seymour. Listen to the one track we have up now – a Boxed and Crated / Show Some Shame medley – and remember to PRE ORDER HERE.

PLEASE SHARE OUR “MEMORY KING” MUSIC VIDEO!

September 07, 2021

Hey there, it’s the latest CC newsletter – published here on the CC blog, as promised.

Have you seen our new music video for “Memory King” yet? If you haven’t, please, we’d love for you to watch it HERE! If you have seen it, and enjoy it (as we do), would you be so kind as to share it on whatever social media you prefer, or email it, or just tell a friend about it? And if you’re in the youtube commenting game, please leave us a comment! Releasing a video close to two years after a record comes out isn’t ideal for coverage or publicity, but we believe in this little cartoon dystopian avian universe so much, and we love our longtime artist Jase Harper so much, so we’d love to get as many eyes and ears on this thing as possible. Help us spread the word and get to 1000 views and 50 comments this week!

JJ Koczan at The Obelisk was kind enough to do this write-up on our video! A much too kind key passage is below:

You ever see Caustic Casanova? It’s kind of hard to convey how much their material manages to be theirs while ultimately staying in familiar terrain. As a group, they have a presence that’s not quite like anybody else making heavy rock, and they’ve done it well enough and long enough at this point that they just get on stage, deliver, and are done. In a way, it’s no-frills, almost punk rock, and then they might sludge out and embarrass any number of surrounding acts stacking speaker cabinets for a showcase of tone-worship. I’ve been fortunate enough to catch them a couple times now. All they do is impress.

What a nice thing to say! In a scene crowded with over-the-top talent, to be recognized in any way for our live shows is always a blessing. And JJ is not just a guy with a blog, he’s more a scion-philosopher scene king of stoner rock, the professor of logic at the University of Science for the study of riffs and fuzz, if you will. His word is bond, and you’re in the doghouse with us if you say otherwise. So we must be doing something right!

Live dates soon, folks! Stay tuned!

Thanks again for reading and listening – your support means so much to us! Spread the word about the “Memory King” video please!
